Who We Are

This website is operated by James Nisbet, a guitarist, producer, musical director and songwriter based in the United Kingdom. James Nisbet is the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

You can contact James at jamesnisbet1@me.com or by calling +44 (0) 7920 865874.

What Data We Collect

When you submit the contact form on this website, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Any message you choose to send

We do not collect any other personal data through this website. We do not run advertising networks or set tracking cookies of our own.

How We Use Your Data

The information you submit is used solely to respond to your enquiry. We will not use your details for marketing purposes or pass them to any third party beyond what is needed to deliver your message (see below).

The legal basis for processing your data is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — specifically, responding to a contact request you have initiated.

How Your Message Is Delivered

Contact form messages are delivered to James by email via Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), a third-party email delivery service. Brevo processes your name, email address and message in order to transmit the email. Brevo's own privacy policy applies to this processing. The website itself does not store your personal data in any database.

How Long We Keep Your Data

Emails received via the contact form are retained in James's inbox for up to 12 months and are then deleted. No other copies are retained.

Third-Party Services

This website uses the following third-party services that may process data when you visit:

  • Google Fonts — used to display typefaces. Your browser may make a request to Google's servers when the page loads.
  • YouTube — video embeds appear on this site. YouTube may set cookies when these load. You can prevent this by not interacting with the video players; however the iframes load by default.
  • Brevo — email delivery service used to transmit contact form submissions (see above).

Cookies

This website does not set its own cookies. However, embedded YouTube videos may set cookies on your device when the page loads. These are set by Google/YouTube and their privacy policy governs their use.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Objection — object to our processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, please contact James at jamesnisbet1@me.com. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top.
